Emergency
Vehicle Access Systems
Once the vehicle entry roads and facility doors have been secured with an access control system, a method for emergency personnel and vehicle access must be provided by law. The exact system is usually specified by municipal and other local authorities, which leads to a wide variety of these systems being specified and installed. At Sunbelt Gated Access Systems, we monitor these local requirements and can provide, install and maintain the exact system needed in your location.
Knox Rapid Entry Systems
There are so many gated communities today that fire and police departments are delayed when responding to emergency calls. Increased property damage and even total loss is a threat when property is not accessible. The Knox Rapid Entry Systems reduce response time, property damage and the liability for lost keys.
The Knox-Box® Rapid Entry System is a secure emergency access program developed for property
owners and fire departments. Each Knox-Box purchased by the property owner is keyed to a single
master key controlled by your local fire department and Knox padlocks and key switches operate
with this same master key. With one master key, emergency response personnel can quickly gain
access to commercial and residential property when responding to an emergency call.
More than 9,000 fire departments nationwide use Knox® key boxes, vaults, key switches and padlocks.
Property owners in our community utilize Knox key switches to open automated gates, Knox padlocks
to secure manual gates and Knox boxes and vaults mounted near their building entrances to securely
store entrance keys, access cards and floor plans.
When a fire breaks out or there is a medical emergency, Knox® products allow immediate entry into buildings and property without forced entry damage or delay. With the Knox System, there is no cost yo the fire department, no waiting for a property owner to unlock the gate or door in the middle of the night and no forcing the gate or door open to gain entry.
Fail-Safe Emergency Access System
Like the Knox-Box Rapid Entry Systems, the Fail-Safe Emergency Access System securely keeps your property's keys inside the box while the Fire Department holds the Master key. In the event of an emergency they can access your facilities without damaging your property or leaving it vulnerable after a call.
Fail-Safe offers an extensive key vault product line. Several of the
unique features Fail-Safe’s product line offers has come by
suggestions of firefighters. Fail-Safe’s products are held to the
highest standards for durability, ease of use, safety of emergency
responders and affordability of consumers. Fail-Safe key vaults are
the only key vaults listed as an Underwriters Laboratory Fire Alarm
Accessory (UOXX.S5507).
Tamper switches are standard on all key vaults and the building key attaches to the key vault lid; this "Ball and Chain” arrangement assures the key is returned to key vault before box is locked after the emergency call.
Siren Operated Sensors
The Siren Operated Sensor (SOS) is used to open residential, commercial, airport, government and
military gates during an emergency. This system saves vital seconds in all emergencies with sirens
triggering gate operators. Emergency responders get your gates open without accessing codes, keys,
radio frequencies, or causing costly damage by ramming your gate.
Many communities will require an SOS device for emergency vehicle entrance. Because SOS specializes in sound sensors, triggers can be customized to respond to individual frequencies. Most often, the "yelp" siren is set to open the gate as most emergency vehicles are capable of producing this sound. The sensitivity is adjustable to ensure drive-by sirens do not open your gate inadvertently.
Click2Enter Systems
Like the SOS Click2Enter does away with all of the cumbersome keys, access control codes and
remote control actuators, because every emergency response vehicle and responder carries the
key - their mobile or portable radio transceiver. Just a simple 'click' of the radio
transmitter button is all that's required to open gates and doors.
Click2Enter takes advantage of state of the art electronics presently being designed into scanner radio technology. This modified scanner/radio technology provides public safety agencies with a quick, safe, reliable and stealthy means to activate gates, bollards, doors or any security control mechanisms. Public safety agencies, such as Fire Departments, Police/Sheriff Departments, and Ambulance/Rescue Companies are issued radio frequencies by the FCC for their restricted use only.
While relatively new to this market, Click2Enter is revolutionizing the emergency access industry and is being adopted by more communities every day.
